Resources

Style Guide

Organization Name

  • First mention: Art & Soul Innovations
  • Second mention: Art & Soul

Please do not refer to Art & Soul Innovations as ASI in external documents; use the mention guidelines outlined above instead. Also, note the ampersand (Art & Soul, not Art and Soul).

Program Names

Connections

Connections should be referred to as a program of Art & Soul Innovations, not Proud Theater. Where a relationship with Proud Theater is important to highlight, Connections can be referred to as “a program of Art & Soul Innovations, the organization behind Proud Theater”.

Proud Theater

Please refer to the program name as Proud Theater in all mentions. Chapters include a hyphen after Theater (ex: Proud Theater-Green Bay). There are no spaces between Theater, the hyphen, and the chapter location. Make sure to include the full chapter name and use it consistently when referring to events and initiatives specific to a chapter. Refer to Proud Theater when discussing elements of the program not specific to the local chapter (ex: Proud Theater is an LGBTQ+ youth theater organization”).

Proud Theater Beyond

  • First mention: Proud Theater Beyond
  • Second mention: Beyond

Note that there is no dash or hyphen in Proud Theater Beyond. Chapters of Beyond should have a hyphen after Beyond (ex: Proud Theater Beyond-Madison). Mentions after the first should start with Beyond and include the hyphen (ex: Beyond-Madison).

Theater

We use the spelling “theater” as opposed to “theatre” throughout our communications. This includes Art & Soul Innovations and Proud Theater (including chapters) communications. This maintains consistency with the program names for Proud Theater/Proud Theater Beyond and reduces misspellings of the Proud Theater name.
